USDA Forest Service Cultural Resource Evaluation and Documentation
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.
Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 1284LM27Q0001 is issued as a Request for Quotes. The Sand Creek Road Cultural Site Evaluation project is evaluation of 25 previously identified cultural sites along approximately 6 miles of road located in McKenzie County on the McKenzie Ranger District of the Dakota Prairie Grasslands.
The USFS is requesting that 25 unevaluated sites within a 50 ft ROW of Sand Creek Road (McKenzie County Road
- have evaluative testing.
A list of these sites is provided in Table 1 of the Performance Work Statement. The testing will be done in two phases. The intent of this contract is phase one.
Phase one is shovel testing to determine the presence or absence of buried cultural material. Phase two will be formal testing to determine if found cultural deposits represent intact cultural components will be done at a later time and is not part of this contract. Many of the cairn sites have lithic materials found at these locations.
The presence of lithic materials suggests that there may be evidence of open camp activities. This acquisition is set-aside for small business concerns. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 541620.
The small business size standard is $19M. This acquisition is a total small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
