The County of Sacramento (“County") is soliciting bids for a contractor to upfit five
- County-owned step vans in accordance with the specifications and drawings attached to this Request for Bid (RFB).
The specifications of this RFB describe the complete upfitting, including but not limited to custom shelving, tool storage, workspace installation, auxiliary power, electrical and lighting systems for five (5), County-owned, Utilimaster step vans on 2026 Freightliner custom chassis. The County will provide five (5), brand new, Utilimaster step vans as delivered from Utilimaster that have not been altered from factory original condition. Each van has been properly specified, specially ordered and manufactured to accept a unique upfit or last-stage manufacture.
The specifications of this RFB provide all details for three
- different van upfits.
Each upfit is unique and has a separate build specification or upfit designation. One
- step van will receive “Upfit 14FT”.
Three
- step vans will receive “Upfit FT16”.
One
- step van will receive “Upfit 18FT”.
Complete details for all upfit designations are incorporated into this single bid specification. It shall be the responsibility of the awarded body builder / upfitter to facilitate the complete upfit and final stage manufacture of the five
- County-owned step vans to make them fully functional.
The completed vans will be used by County of Sacramento Department of Transportation and Department of Water Resources to perform construction and maintenance of County infrastructure.
