The City of Seattle seeks a pool of qualified Vendors to manage, process, transport, and properly dispose of a wide range of nonhazardous waste streams generated by City departments and City Contractors. Services will be provided on an as-needed basis and include receiving, sorting, treating, beneficially reusing, or disposing of materials such as street maintenance debris, hydroexcavation waste, contaminated rubble, soils, organics, treated wood, sewer solids, oily water, and drinking water treatment residuals. Work may involve container rental, transportation, facility operations, waste acceptance, documentation, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
Vendors will support City operations across Seattle and statewide project locations, ensuring timely, compliant, and efficient handling of diverse waste streams delivered by various vehicle types and City crews.
The City has previously held contracts for Solid and Liquid Waste Disposal for several years. The current contracts are with Waste Management (contract 3700) and Ventilation Power Cleaning (contract 3758), which resulted from ITB SPU-3700 in 2017. The City intends to close these contracts when new contracts are established by this solicitation.
Average annual usage is $3,050,000 for both contracts combined. The average orders are $6,000 with some orders as high as $20,000. The primary users of these contracts were Seattle Public Utilities (SPU), Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), and Seattle City Light (SCL), but resulting contracts may be used by any City department.
This solicitation is a separate solicitation from RFP SU0-26-002-A for Solid Waste Transportation and Disposal Services.
