Runway 5R-23L and T1 Apron Pavement Rehabilitation
The project consists of the mill and overlay of Runway 5R-23L pavement, including all associated runway connectors, along with improvements to airfield lighting and the Terminal 1 South Apron reconstruction. Work includes 10-inch mill and replacement at the runway thresholds, 6-inch mill and replacement along the runway center section, and 4-inch mill and replacement of the shoulders and blast pads. The project will also replace the runway Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) system and weather sensor.
Additional improvements include replacement of the Terminal 1 South Apron high-mast lighting, installation of new cameras on the high-mast lighting poles, and reconstruction of the Terminal 1 South Apron in concrete. This project shall utilize Owner Furnished Airfield Electrical Equipment. Details for receipt, custody, storage, protection, insurance, and installation are outlined in Specification 26 05 01.
Pre-bid conference: NON-MANDATORY A Pre-bid Conference and SB Workshop is scheduled for October 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM, located in Conference Room 100 of the Authority’s Administration Building, RDU Center, 1000 Trade Drive, RDU Airport, NC. The purpose of this workshop is to inform Bidders and prospective subcontractors of the Project and the requirements for meeting the SB goals set forth for this contract. A site visit will directly follow the meeting for the Terminal 1 Apron area.

Sealed bids will be received from "Prequalified Bidders" by the Raleigh Durham Airport Authority (the “Authority” or “Owner”) in the office of the President and CEO at the Raleigh Durham International Airport up to 10:00 AM on November 9, 2026, and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read in Conference Room 100, at the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority’s Administration Building, RDU Airport, located at 1000 Trade Drive, Raleigh, NC 27623, for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment entering into the construction of the following Project:
