Outreach Event: Cascades Dam Tour

Released: September 30, 2026 12:00 AM PDT Pre-proposal meeting (Dam Tour Date): October 22, 2026 10:00 AM PDT at Cascades Dam Facility - address to be provided to those who RSVP prior to the event Responses due (Tour Arrival Time): October 22, 2026 10:00 AM PDT

Project Description:

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) will host a tour of the Cascade Dam Facility at Lake Youngs in unincorporated King County, Washington on October 22, 2026 from 10 AM to 1 PM. This three-hour tour will include a walk around the parts of the Cascade Dam facility and Lake Youngs Reservoir Perimeter Dike, a brief explanation of the history and functions of the site, and a discussion of two upcoming consultant contracting opportunities:

Cascades Dam and Perimeter Dike Design

Lake Youngs Perimeter Drain Lining

SPU is offering this optional tour in advance of requesting qualifications from consultants to provide expertise in design to improve the structural integrity of the Cascades Dam and Lake Youngs Perimeter Dike. The tour will also highlight another upcoming consultant opportunity to support relining the Lake Youngs Perimeter Drain.

The tour is intended to raise the level of awareness of the Cascade Dam and Lake Youngs facility in the consultant community in order to improve the quality of responses to requests for qualifications. It is also intended as an opportunity for potential subconsultants and prime consultants to begin communication toward forming teams. SPU particularly encourages teams with a healthy woman- and minority-owned business enterprise (WMBE) presence and participation.

Interested consultants are encouraged to contact the project lead, Ulysses Hillard, at [email on the source notice] to allow for planning to accommodate ferrying attendees into and back out of this secured, access-controlled site.

Listing collected from Washington DES - WEBS (Washington's Electronic Business Solution). Always confirm requirements in the original solicitation before you bid.
