FFy25 NCHIP Grant
The Office of Grants and Research intends to award the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security's Office of Technology Information Systems $2,400,000 in FFY25 National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP) funds to fund the Improving Disposition Matching in the Commonwealth (IDMC) project. The IDMC project is a strategic initiative aimed at improving Massachusetts' criminal history information and disposition reporting by improving data quality, computer systems, business processes, auditing, training, and staffing shortages. Improved disposition matching is critical to ensure that fingerprint-supported arrests, linked to Court case outcomes, are accurate and accessible through state and national criminal history record systems.
Accurate dispositions are vitally important for law enforcement, civil background checks, and gun purchases.
These funds will also support the Livescan Replacement Project, which will purchase and deploy replacement palm print enabled livescans to law enforcement agencies and criminal justice agencies throughout the Commonwealth in an effort to maintain electronic ten print and palm print submissions.
The anticipated project period for this award is August 2026 through June 30, 2029.
Contract period: 08/01/2026 to 06/30/2029
