The City of Wheaton is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms to conduct a comprehensive Emergency Well and Storage Expansion Study. The study follows a 2026 Risk- Based Water System Analysis which identified a critical vulnerability in the City's reliance on the DuPage Water Commission (DWC) without active countermeasures. At the conclusion of this Study, the City will be able to evaluate the relative risks and associated costs of alternative for relying on wells and/or additional storage in the event of a total supplier loss.
