Advancing Interoperability and Prior Authorization (AIPA) (RFI #26-029)

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to assess available interoperability and prior authorization technology solutions in the market. The purpose of this RFI is to gather insights from qualified vendors on standards based, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) enabled capabilities and related services that can support DHCS' unique challenges in meeting the federal requirements of CMS-0057-F, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule. Information received through this RFI will help DHCS understand current industry offerings, consider solution approaches that enhance timely and transparent data exchange, and inform potential future procurement and implementation strategies that align with operational needs across Medi-Cal fee-for-service programs.
