Service Requested: Carcass Rail Elevation Lift System- Inspection and Repair
The St. Croix Abattoir is requesting a qualified contractor/technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair the Carcass Rail Elevation Lift System used during the evisceration process.
The system raises and lowers the carcasses to the appropriate working height, allowing butchers to safely and efficiently complete evisceration.
Current Issue: The system is not maintaining its set position during operation. While the butcher is performing evisceration, the system gradually lowers on its own instead of remaining securely at the selected working height. This presents an operational and potential safety concern.
Scope of Service: Inspect and diagnose the complete Carcass Rail Elevation Lift System. Determine the cause of the system lowering on its own. Inspect electrical, mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic components as applicable.
Repair or replace worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components as necessary. Test the system to ensure it securely maintains the selected elevation without unintended downward movement. Provide recommendations for additional repairs or replacement needs.
Provide a recommended preventative maintenance schedule, including routine inspections, servicing/lubrication requirements, and recommended maintenance intervals.
On-site visits are welcomed and recommended to allow contractors to properly assess the existing system before submitting a bid.
